35mm Wednesday

I always wonder if what I pass on a daily basis I take for granted or if things I just think are ‘normal’ others would find impressive or interesting…

undefined

Right goes to my office, left to Mejijingu Shrine…I need to spend more time at Mejijingu Shrine.

undefined

Lately I get trapped at this crossing each morning for about 10 minutes or so….  it allows me to practice my train photography.

undefined

I went to my favorite Sushi Place today ‘Tokyo Kaiten Sushi’ and was sad to find out they were closing today due to a huge downturn in their business since the earthquake.   I wonder how many other businesses will have similar impacts as power shortages last for months to come.

undefined

If I wasn’t so responsible…this could be a fun lunch.

undefinedundefined

Negitoromaki…I usually each two plates each time…

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

I’ll miss this place…

undefined

Nice orderly bikes… the way they should be…

undefined

The one interesting thing in Japan is there is always musicians in front of the stations playing and hoping to be ‘found’.

undefinedundefined

I walked around a bit to check out ‘Dark Shinjuku’…

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

My favorite car of the day…

undefinedundefined

Some places were actually surprising lite up…and others very dark!

undefinedundefinedundefined

Another sign no one follows “no run for the train!”…

undefinedundefined

I’ll never get tired of ‘Dark Shibuya’…it is very surreal.

undefinedundefinedundefined

The next McDonalds sin…

undefined

‘Ra’… men?

undefined

Ending the day at the Hub in Shibuya for a beer, some food and a little blogging…

Thanks Patty. ‘Dark Shibuya’ has a very different feel to it right now. I want ‘Bright Shibuya’ back! Cerulean Towers has a nice place for lunch in the lobby. I love that place.

Thats sounds like fun Marco. You should have held your camera up and shoot off a few rounds on a slow shutter speed to capture the speed you were going.

      CAR OF THE DAY!!

Guess what ? Today I had a chance to travel on one exactly as the one your photo (only difference it was black). It was a customer with a business in Montecarlo that needed help with his mac and came to pick me up at the store (and then back). We could not run fast in Nice, but at some point we found ourselves on the wrong side of the street (…the right one in Tokyo!) and suddenly, to solve the problem, he accelerated….it was like being in the “Space Shuttle takeoff simulator” at KSC!

And now I realise:I had mi Sigma DP1S with me -as always- but did not take any photos!

By the time I get to visit Tokyo (on my dream list) I’ll feel like I already know a bit of the city thanks to your daily photos. I’ll also know what lenses to bring with me! Very glad to have found your blog.

I was just in the Starbucks in “Dark Shibuya” in September. So hot I thought I’d dehydrate if I walked another step! So I bought some juice to hold me until I could get to the Cerulean Towers and get to the convenience store for one of those amazing ice cream cones in a clear plastic package! YUM!

No, we don’t find your images “normal.” We find them both impressive AND interesting. Japan always is, and to see you capture it each day is a real treat. To see you trying out your lenses each week is a bonus.

So sorry to hear your sushi place will close. I hope it is very temporary!
