I woke up this morning wanting to buy some new photography equipment. I'm not sure why. Perhaps it was because my friend John Hall Blog let me try his Leica Q on Friday night. That is a pretty amazing camera. I checked availability but nothing is available for the next 3 months. Then I thought what about getting a lens for my Sony A7s. I window shopped online for a little while. Then I decided what I really needed was a change for pace with my photography not new gear. I grabbed my Hasselblad and a few rolls of film and headed into downtown Jiyugaoka. I needed to get my car washed so I figured it would give me an hour or so to shoot. The gas station in my town has the best deal. If you have them to wash and wax your car it costs about $30 but the next car wash is only $1. What a great deal.

When I got to shooting I noticed I still had half an unused roll of film in my Hasselblad so you will notice some of the image aren't very timely. I love the surprises like this that come with film. I never understand Japanese graffiti. I see the english letters but it never makes sense.

The current view out of my office window... I have had the same view on 39th floor, 30th floor and now 29th floor of this building. The view never gets old to me.

I stopped to check in on my favorite cone. This thing has been here for years. The owner is clearly fighting with someone as they do something to ruin his cone and he just adds more wire, cement and cone parts to re-enforce it. It's too funny watching this on-going battle for the past few years. Look at this awesome franken cone...

I'm not a big ramen eater but I kind of wish I was. I always love it while I am eating it as I love salty food but I hate how I feel after so I usually avoid eating it.

I love when I see houses like this in Tokyo. People convert part of their house into a shop or restaurant. They are typically not serious high traffic businesses but rather passion projects or hobby projects. Perhaps one day Mayumi, Kai and I will have one of these.

I dropped by Popeye Camera. I haven't been there in months as I haven't been shooting much film lately. I have an entire wine fridge full of film so perhaps I need to dedicate a few months of shooting film so I can clear some of it out.
