Wherever I May Roam

Wherever I May Roam

I always wonder if owning a car in Tokyo is a waste of money.   Parking is expensive anywhere you go.  It is expensive to park even at your apartment.    I don't drive to work or to the airport.   I drive on weekends and sometimes it is only 1 of the days.  I have had my car for about 1.5 years and I have only put 3,700 kilometers on it which is about 2,300 miles.   Every time I drive past Flat 4 I think I should sell my car and just get a much cheaper, and potentially more fun, old Volkswagen.   It is probably a very impractical car but given how little I drive it might not be a bad idea. Today's Configuration:  Leica M9-P with a Summilux 21mm f/1.4. and a Noctilux 50mm f/0.95.

I dropped a few more ShootTokyo T-Shirts at the Meguro Post Office to send off to readers of ShootTokyo in Dallas and Louisiana.   I don't run ShootTokyo as a business.  For me it is about my pleasure of my hobby of  photography and sharing.   T-Shirts are a great way for people to show their love of photography, Japan and support of ShootTokyo.   I was reviewing my orders and was really surprised how many shirts I have sold.    I have sold more than 400!    It was a bit of a surprise to me as I don't really monitor it that closely.  When inventory gets low I re-order.

I have sent shirts to Slovenia, Australia, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Norway, Singapore, Austria, Netherlands, China, Spain, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Malaysia, Mexico and all around Japan and the United States.   I have yet to pass someone on the street wearing one of my T-Shirts.   One day I will...

I get people sending me photos of them wearing them from time to time.   Some of them are really interesting.  I got a great one this morning from someone in front of a Bail Bonds shop.   It was very funny...  If you have a shirt send me a photo of you in it.

The shirts are great quality.   I wear mine all the time so if you haven't picked one up yet please do!

I see this randomly parked outside of 7 Elevens.   I am not sure if it is for a floating manager or for a runner if a store runs out of something but I find this tiny little car very amusing.

I have been looking for this little temple in Meguro since I saw a few photos of it on my friend David's blog last year.   Well I haven't actually been looking for it rather it has just been on my list of places to go and find when I am in the area.

It is a very cool little temple that you could easily walk right past if you didn't poke your head inside to see what was in there.

I decided to walk from Meguro to Nakameguro.  Sometimes it is nice to just get out and roam...

I need to look up more as I am out photographing.  I have a bad habit of looking down or just in front of time.  I need to remember 'up' in Tokyo often translates to cool images.

Ebisu Garden Place.   People who haven't been to Tokyo don't realize how green Tokyo actually is.  Off in the distance is La Table by Joel Robuchon.   I have eaten at a few of his restaurants and they are all fantastic.

中目黒 Nakameguro!   I miss living here.  It is a quiet yet slightly busy place and is very close to central Tokyo.

Someone turned this old Daihatsu Shop into a cafe.  It is an interesting mix match of old furniture.  I need to stop in for a beer and check this place out.

I love all of these cars and vans in Tokyo that are converted to be pizza shops, coffee shops, etc.   See just another reason why I need to sell my car and get a Volkswagen.  It is becoming all too clear now...
