Exploring Jakarta

I finally had my first day off in a while today.  All of my travel and work has eaten up a lot of my weekends late.   I'm looking forward to a few days off when I get back to Tokyo. One of my readers of ShootTokyo Wiama and his friend Astrid kindly offered to bring me out in Jakarta and show me the city.   This is a city I have always wanted to go to so it was nice to see it.

We started off at a very cool photography museum with lots of images about corruption in Indonesia.    It was fascinating.

Today's configuration:  Leica M Monochrom with a Summicron 28mm f/2.0

I forgot that Indonesia was colonized by Japan.   A sad time in history...

This square was pretty fun.   Everyone had selfie sticks.   This is similar to what I bought for my GoPro.

On the edges of the square were these abandoned buildings we were able to get into to explore a bit...

There were actually a few other photographers in there doing photo shoots...

There were a group of kids in there playing cosplay and taking images.  I thought they looked pretty cool...

I was also able to get out for a few hours of video shooting yesterday as well.  I also picked up one of those sticks for my GoPro.  I want to try and use that more when I am traveling to capture some video.

Thanks for stopping by today...
