All in Tokyo

Transportation

I looked at the images I've collected on my Monochrom after the past few weeks and they were all more or less of modes or places of transportation; Trains, Subways, Airplanes, Train Stations and Airports with very little scattered in between.   It's understandable given the amount of travel I have been doing.

Recent Cities

I just got back from recent trips to Ho Chi Minh City and Melbourne Australia.  Both are places I haven't been to in a really long time.   I was last in Ho Chi MInh was on a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia with my dad.  It has changed and developed so much since that time.  It has been even longer since I have been to Melbourne.

The Start

I'm wrapped up 3 weeks of leave yesterday and headed back to work.  I never used to be able to take time off at year so it's nice to finally be able to.  I travel and work a lot throughout the year so I really cherish this time to unwind and catch up at home.

Coffee with Steve

My friend Steve was in Tokyo from Taiwan last week.   We always try to get together when he is in town but I have missed him the last few times.   I wasn’t able to get out for shooting with him but he was able to stop by my office for a coffee and a chat.

They Don't Serve Ketchup

I found the best burger place in Tokyo but shocking they don't serve ketchup. It doesn't matter. This is probably the best burger I have ever eaten. It was nothing short of amazing. I can't wait to eat here again.

War Against War

There has been a building debate in Japan as its current Prime Minster plans to modify the current pacifist constitution and the debate is specifically around the modification of Article 9. Here is a good summary of the issue from the US Library of Congress:

Exploring Tokyo

I resist playing video games as I know with my personality I will become obsessive about the game and spend far too much time on it.   I have been trying to get/stay in shape lately and I found the perfect game to help me to that.  It’s a Google Game called

Matthew's Birthday

Saturday was my friend Matthew’s birthday so on Saturday night I headed out to Devil Craft in Hamamatsucho.   This place has great craft beer and deep dish pizza.   I was actually surprised how good it was.   I wanted to be a bit lazy so I bolted my small flash

In this day and age there are a lot of people that you know from online that you haven’t met in real life.   It is just the way the world works and is so interconnected now.  I was so excited this week to bump into one of my favorite people from the web –

Changing the routine

One thing photographers can struggle with from time to time is inspiration.  Especially for those of us that photography is a hobby.   Where can I go shoot?   What can I shoot?   When can I shoot? I am often shooting on my commute to and from work.  A great way to
