10,000 Torii Gates
Walking through Fushimi-inari Taisha during the late morning was beautiful and amazing. It is set in the woods at the base of and going up a mountain. There are more than 10,000 torii gates lining the path along the temple... It is a beautiful view but I can only image it is very creepy late in the afternoon. Today’s configuration: Leica M6 with various Leica lenses shot on Kodak Ektar film.
All of the torii had been donated by a company and has their named inscribed in it...
I wished I turned and got the view with the inscriptions... I also wish it was a different time of day and light wasn't coming through the side of the torii. Must be late in the afternoon is the time to get the right light. Creepy time. It just gives me a reason to go back to Kyoto again (soon). This place is amazing. I could imagine spending an entire day exploring here...
