Calming and Blooming
The more I shoot my new Nikon F3 the more I like it. It is such a simple camera to shoot and affordable. I picked mine up for $450 with two lenses. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a first film camera. The one thing I can't seem to figure out are the frame lines. I feel like I am framing at 21mm but then getting back 24mm images as they are just slightly more cropped than I remember shooting them at. Does anyone have experience with this camera and lens combination and can shed some light on it?
Today’s Configuration: Nikon F3 HP with a Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 shot on Portra 400 film.
Updated Communist posters for spring. This time it's an angry change purse upset about the tax hike in April...
The cherry blossoms are officially starting to bloom! They will be in full bloom in one week. Here is a piece I wrote up on shooting the cherry blossoms. I didn't get to shoot them much last year so I am really looking forward to getting out and shooting them this year!
I'm not sure I would want to live so closely to the train tracks. Do you get used to the noise? Does the rattling over time become soothing? I wonder if people feel that way when they first come to Tokyo. I love the noise and motion of the city. It relaxes me and makes me feel alive.
Ah...calming.
I find it interesting that the community boards are the targets for graffiti in my town. I don't graffiti but if I did won't the big white wall look more attractive than the green board? Perhaps the wall was previous a target which is why it is freshly painted...
A quick walk through my favorite local shrine...
My local favorite Starbucks... I tweeted the other day that I was cheating on Starbucks with Tully's. Much to my surprise Tully's responded. I have tweeted to Starbucks a bunch and never heard a thing. They must not appreciate my 3-4 cups a day...
I have walked by here a million times. I need to try this place one day...
Kiyo is a cool little bag shop in Jiyugaoka. My wife loves this place. They import the bags from Italy. They are selling them out before they are even completely unpacked. Later in life I need to get into the import/export business. What should I import and export?
I think I have too much energy to stand and wait for a bus. I am too high energy.
If you are going to illegally parking your bicycles at least be uniformed in your parking like this.

I'm glad to report that everyone is home safe and sound now. My wife's energy to support my son when he is sick is nothing short of amazing to me. Thanks for stopping by today...
