Controlled by Arrows
I decided to grab a single camera with a single lens and head out for a long walk the other day. As I said before I think the approach of shooting a single lens for a while can really help you to learn the lens and what you can do with it. It will help you to overcome the feeling to need to bring too much gear with you. I am still guilty of doing this but much less than before. I took this approach with my 21mm, 45mm and 50mm and really got a solid handle on these lenses. Read more about this approach here. For this walked I grabbed my 28mm. It is a great focal length to help you capture the atmosphere around you without being too wide. I am finding I am using this more than before.
Today's configuration: Leica M Monochrom with a Summicron 28mm f/2.0.
Make me the bike parking warden for a week. #problemsolved
I am doing a lot of walking lately thanks to my FitBit. Every time I see a ramen shop I really want to go in but just not a healthy enough choice.
I love shooting these platforms. I could stand here all day shooting these. It could actually be an interesting idea for a project and photobook.
Living in Tokyo I sometimes feel like my life is controlled by arrows.
I am always very proud of myself when I actually surface out of the right exit of a train station. It is a small accomplishment but we should celebrate the little wins.
I am amazed at how much advertising is up around Tokyo for the upcoming launch of Grand Theft Auto 5. I played a version of GTA a few years ago but then decided after a month or so that I was far to willing to dedicate an unbelievable amount of time to increase my street cred and rise through the ranks of the criminal underworld. I was never big into video games but I image this one can be very addictive. They did $1B in sales in 3 days. Amazing...
The famous Starbucks in Shibuya where everyone shoots Shibuya Crossing.
Everything is best when it is Superfly...
