Dinner with an old friend
I headed out last night to catch up with an old friend of mine...It is always nice to catch up with old friends and chat about family, business and life.
If you didn't notice the new perspective. I have a new lens! I picked up the Leica Summicron 28mm f/2.0 to help round out my lens collection. It will be a good lens to go with my Summilux 21mm f/1.4, Summilux 35mm f/1.4, and my Noctilux 50mm f/0.95. I get a lot of emails with questions asking my opinion about gear I am using. I am thinking of building out a gear page with a lot more details on what I am shooting with and why.
Choices, choices, choices...to help put scale into perspective it takes an hour to complete the small circle you see in the middle.
I like shooting with the 28mm. Firstly I don't need a second viewfinder. Second it helps me to capture more of the world around me. It isn't as wide as my 21mm so doesn't give you the extreme effect the 21mm can. I think this lens will be getting lots of use.
Meet Bernie...
It has been a while since I was able to catch up with my old friend. We had dinner at Kaikaya by the Sea in Shibuya (23-7 Maruyama-cho, Shibuya, 03-3770-0878) and had some great sashimi.
This was my first time at Kaikaya and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was quiet. The food was excellent and very reasonable priced. I have added it to my list of regular restaurants.
...and they have a door that everyone puts stickers on so I made a donation...well two.
As we left Bernie noticed a place across the street that a few old Leica cameras in the window. It turned out to be an old style barber shop simply called The Barber (22-15-1F Maruyamacho, Shibuya, 03 5728-6558). I think I'll need to go back and get me a cut and a shave...plus the owner is a Leica buff!
After a nice night out...it's time to head home.
I am off to Hong Kong for a few days with my brother who is visiting me for a week. Thanks for stopping by today...
