Jiyugaoka and a bit about Google+
After a long work day I took time for a short walk around the neighborhood with my Noctilux 50mm f/0.95... Today’s Configuration: Leica M9 with a Summilux 21mm f/1.4 and a Leica SF 24-D and a Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 with ND64 with a 1.4x magnifier.

...have you seen him?
I know I keep ranting about this but I love how Jiyugaoka enforces bike parking... In a city as massive as Tokyo order is very important. There are parts of Tokyo that are really dangerous to walk...because the likelihood of tripping over a bike is extremely high as they are parked everywhere.
21, 21, 21?
This actually turned out to be an extremely cool store...
I loved the small about of light hitting the Sake bottles in the back...
Wow! They actually have bike parking...
and they have order...
Remember the tip from the other day about neon... a few minutes after Sunset is perfect. More on this tomorrow.
OK...a little digression from photography...I am having way too much fun with my Google+ account. I am so glad I was lucky enough to get in as one of the early adopters for the field trials... The interface is very slick and intuitive. You basically follow people and you can arrange them by something called 'circles' that allow you to sort people into streams. If you see mine I have friends for people I chat to a lot, I have Japanese for people speaking in Japanese, Photog for photographers and you can watch all streams, mute streams, limit to just a single stream. You can send links, share photos and the coolest feature...Hang Outs.
Another really slick features is how it notifies you of activity when you return. Rather than needing to scroll around and figure out what happened this notification tab at the top has a number of the things that happen such as people following you, or commenting or sharing one of your posts. Then you can simply tab through them seeing each activity in a different screen.
A hangout is an live view chat with up to 10 people... you simply click Hangout to start a hang out and then invite anyone from your circles... All of the developers from Google are hosting them all the time to get real time feedback on features, functions and changes they are implementing... I noticed that the famous HDR Photography Trey Ratcliff, a.k.a. Stuck in Customs, launched a Hangout so I clicked on it and we were chatting. We chatted for about an hour on photography, life, travel, and copy right protection. How he is commenting on my photos!
I woke up this morning and was checking my mail while having a coffee...and Michel Dell popped up in my stream 'hanging out'... We all chatted for about 30 minutes on IT, the implications of Google+ on other tools.
I was checking the Top 100 most popular Google+ users...while I didn't make the Top 100 I am #124 and I am closing in on Ashton Kutcher... If you are on Google Plus share me with your circles so I can overtake Ashton.
If you like what you saw today, please share it by clicking one of the links below. If you are one of the lucky Google Plus users give it a +1! Thanks and see you tomorrow!
