Saturday in Hong Kong
I love shooting in a 'new' city. I have been to Hong Kong many times but never have I had a few days to explore and shoot it. If I was lucky I just an evening free in the past. Having 4 full days has given me so much time to see and explore . I have never had a Saturday in Hong Kong free before. I really love this city. The Prada Flagship Store in Hong Kong...
This is a good example of finding a scene and then just waiting for your subjects to walk into it. I saw this wall covered with a Giorgio Armani sign and thought it would look nice to expose for the wall and silhouette the people walking by. Now I just needed to wait for the right people to walk by...
One thing I love about asian cities is all of the levels...
I stopped by the Apple Store... I couldn't believe how massive it was. I had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to not be walking in front of me to get this shot. I can't imagine the monthly revenues from this store. Louis Vuitton opened a Flagship Store in Hong Kong that is pulling in $25 Million USD a month, mostly through sales from shoppers from mainland China.
I have been fortunate enough to travel all over Asia on business over the past 10 years. I love how unique each of the cities are. Each have their own distinct personalities. I think my favorites are Tokyo and Singapore. Probably because I have lived in both so I know the cities really well. Hong Kong is also starting to join the list of my favorites.
One thing I love about black and white shots is your subject can be a little blurry and still look good. Often it adds to the photo. The same usually does not work for me in color.
Thanks for stopping by today...
