Apr 7 Constant Improvement

Looking back at yesterday's images I posted a lot of the subtle charm of the camera is missing because I didn't have a good location for shooting images of the camera so I needed to covert them to black and white and process a bit to get a good image. This is one thing I love about the online community. We share, we learn from each other, and we improve. ShootTokyo for me is my platform for constant improvement. Constantly improving the site. Constantly improving my approach to blogging. Constantly improving my photography.

I decided to pick up a light box for photographing my cameras and some other items that are special to me. I was surprised these are relatively inexpensive. This lightbox is a ton of fun to play with and you really need to get every spec of dust off your gear as everything shows up. It is a good excuse to clean your gear. I am planning to shoot all of my gear for my gear page.

While waiting for the store clerk to get the lighting set out of the back room I may or may not have been seduced into upgrading my GRD IV to the new GR but let's not get distracted as this is a topic for another post.

Leica MP-3 Black Paint LHSA Special Edition

Ready for action! I have already fired off a role with this and really enjoyed shooting it. I think I may have gotten one of my favorite 'open train door' photos with it but need to wait and see how it comes out. I also was able to find a case that fits this. There seems to only be 1 guy in the world that is making them. No other case seems to fit due to the Leicavit and the need to access it from the bottom of the camera to use it.

I was never really a fan of brassing on Leicas but I think it gives this camera a bit of charm.
