The Panasonic Lumix Smart Camera CM1
A few weeks ago Panasonic released the Lumix Smart Camera CM1 in France and Germany and is expanding to the UK. I was lucky enough to find my way to one. This is being positioned as a Smart Camera or a Compact Camera with Smartphone Technology. It is a full Android phone that Panasonic managed to squeeze in a 1-inch 20MP sensor. It has a Leica branded 10.2mm f2.8 lens. This camera is absolutely fantastic. I am always taking pictures and it is awesome to be able to so easy to slide the 'on' slider for the camera and snap a shot. I almost always have my phone in my hand so it is natural to use as my point and shoot camera. The 10.2mm lens is a 28mm equivalent which is what I typically use for street photography. You can use the wheel around the lens to control aperture and shutter speed.
The interface is fantastic for a smart phone. It looks just like what you would expect in an advanced point and shoot camera. I have been shooting with this for the past few weeks so let's see how this performs. Most of the images only have some contrast and clarity adjustments in Lightroom.
