Ginkakuji Temple
Ginkakuji Temple, also know as the Silver Pavilion, is another well know Zen temple in Kyoto. It was built in 1482 by the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa as his retirement villa modeling it after the Golden Pavilion. It was designated as a UNECSO World Cultural Site in 1994. This is 1 of 17 UNECSO sites in Kyoto. Visiting here can be overwhelming. The amazing number of temples you can encounter in a day can keep your head spinning. I feel lucky to live so close to Kyoto. I can't believe how beautiful Kyoto. I will become a regular visitor of Kyoto going forward. Today’s configuration: Leica M6 with various Leica lenses shot on Kodak Ektar film.
Kannon-den...the Silver Pavilion.
