Sanzenin Temple
One of my favorite temples that I walked around on my Kyoto trip was Sanzenin Temple which was built in 985. It is actually just on the outskirts of Kyoto in a small town called Ohara. This 1,000 year old temple's gardens outdo many of the much more popular and bigger temples in Kyoto. Sanzenin has historical ties to Japan's Emperors. A total of 32 of it's chief priests were members of the Imperial Family. I continue to be constantly amazed at the number of photos I came back from Kyoto with. Every time I open my Lightroom catalog to write my next post I say to my self "I'm not done with Kyoto yet?". This was probably the 3 most fruitful days of photography I have ever had. I also realized this morning I have about 10 more rolls of film since Kyoto to scan. Lots of photography work for me this weekend.
Today’s configuration: Leica M6 with various Leica lenses shot on Kodak Ektar film.

Moss gardens are the more revered of all Japanese gardens because they are incredibly fragile and take centuries to cultivate and Sanzenin's garden is one of the best...
..and the garden is full of friends.
