Leaving Bangkok
Last night we had an awards dinner and a show in Bangkok... Today’s Configuration: Leica M9 with a Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 with an ND64 and a 21mm f/1.4 and a FujiFilm x100.
I was presenting some of the awards and needed to wear traditional Indian attire...
I was up at 4:30am to head to the airport for my flight leaving Bangkok for Tokyo..
Guardians of the airport...
Bangkok really does an amazing job with duty free shopping...
This is what I wanted for breakfast...
...but this is where I went.
When traveling you eat at odd hours and often on the go so it is easy to put on a lot of extra weight and get out of shape fast. You often have breakfast, lunch and dinner meetings and often meet people for drinks. It all adds up so I always try to make sure I keep it balanced with what I eat, how often and making sure I find time for walks (photography helps) and getting to the gym or out for a run. I skipped Burger King and went for a yogurt and spinach, chicken and egg sandwich. I commit to stay in shape a few years ago and dropped about 30 pounds or so and never put it back on.
I love the architecture of Bangkok Airport...
Back in Tokyo!...until Wednesday.
I never understood why the ANA gates are so far from customs. Most airports put their 'home' airline in the best gates but at Narita they are just really far away... You need to walk down this hall for 10 minutes before turning down another one. It reminds me of Ryan Air at London Heathrow.
Since I moved I just found it easier to take the train back into the city. I figured traffic would be horrible on a Saturday Night as well...
Riding in comfort...
Some views of Japan from the Narita Express....
I stopped off and picked up some Omiyage (gifts) for home... I like this tradition of never returning home from a trip empty handed in Japan.
