A lucky find in Shinjuku
I had a lucky find this week in Shinjuku (Tokyo, Japan). I was looking for a SBLOO bright finder for my M9. Through my searching I learnt there were three types; circa ~1950 steel ones, circa ~1950 black metal ones and black plastic ones. There seem to be plenty of steel ones around in various conditions. I really wanted a black one as I think it offers a much better look to the camera. I check with a few dealers who all said just get a steel one, the Black Metal one might cost you $1,500 and the black plastic ~$700USD, both are extremely rare so it isn't likely you will find either so I would recommend just getting a steel one if you find one you like. I took a walk in Shinjuku at lunch the other day and came across Lucky Camera. As I was looking through the steel ones I made some comments that I really wanted a black one at which time the owner produced a black plastic one. $300USD later it was mine! It's a neat gadget and helps with framing the shot as the camera's view finder is partially blocked by the lens and lens cap.
