The Mac is back: third time is suppose to be a charm
Believe it or not...I actually lost my hard drive for a third time this weekend. Not once, not twice, but three times in a month. This has to be a record. Same as before, recovering a Mac is a painless exercise and with my trusty Time Machine backups I experienced exactly zero data loss. I want to be mad but I love my Mac. Apple can win me over on customer service alone. I never really thought about it before but the big leg up for Mac in my mind is they are the single source supplier. The single point when you have a problem. I can't imagine the run around I would get if this was a PC or the time I would spend recovering. My MAC experience last night:
Dave @ Apple Shibuya: My MAC died again.
Apple's Goto-san: I am so sorry about this. Let me check it....yes it's your hard drive, again. Let me grab you a new MacBook.
2 minutes later
Apple's Goto-san: Here you go, again so sorry. Let us know if you have any further problems.
10 minutes later at home
Dave's new Mac: Would you like to recover?
Dave @ home: Yes
Dave's new Mac: OK, then please follow these two steps.
1. Wait for data to finish copying
2. Use new Mac
I go to sleep and everything is as it was by morning. It must have all been a bad dream...
