Shooting in the Huntongs
I upgraded my blog's infrastructure last week to Virtual Dedicated Servers from a shared server environment. I hope you have noticed and are enjoying the increased performance. I know I am as uploading images and writing posts is much faster for me now! I hosted a photowalk last Sunday while in Beijing in the Huntongs. Beijing weather can be freezing this time of year and smog can always be a problem however 'The Leaders' were kind and honored us with a nice day...
We met up at Starbucks on Houhai Lake...
I had about 15 people show up for the photowalk...
This is Houhai Lake...it a very popular place on the weekends. The lake is frozen this time of year but in the summer there are lots of boats on the lake.
Sex in da City...
Snacks for visitors...
We walked in to see the Old (most restored) Hutongs...
Me in the mirror...
You can rent bikes and explore The Hutongs by bike...
A lot of people bring their birds to the park and stand around and discuss their birds...
This clever man taught his birds to fly to your hand and pick up coins...
We were chatting a bit on using a shallow depth of field. I love the isolation I can get with my Noctilux... You can see his noise and chin are in focus but everything else is gradually thrown out of focus.
I was amazed at the amount of high end camera equipment people were walking around The Hutongs with...
We didn't get a chance to stop in this bar but I hear it is pretty good...
Check back for the rest of the photos from my walk... Thanks for stopping by!
