I was hoping that I missed all the snow while I was in Las Vegas but Mother Nature has different plans for me. Tokyo go pounded again when snow just as I returned. Tokyo has no facilities to deal with snow. No salting, No sanding, No shovels! I cleaned off my steps and driveway with a dust pan (not kidding). The only defense in Tokyo is the garden hose to melt the snow (if it is above freezing). I hope by now you have noticed the brand new ShootTokyo you are reading. I have been working on this in the background for the past few weeks and I am really excited that it is finally live.
I had a ton of help from photographer, design genius and fellow obsessive compulsive Tomasz Nowicki who also helped design my SmugMug Portfolio. You can also check his SmugMug here and see some of this fantastic photography. Now I like Tomasz's style. On ShootTokyo I get a lot of unsolicited advice. You should shoot this way, you should shoot this camera, you should use this scanner, you should <enter topic here>. Tomasz 'complains' in style 'I love your photos but your site is shit. Let's work together to redesign a fantastic one.'. I thought I had amazing attention to detail. I'm now in 2nd place.
New rule on ShootTokyo: If you want to complain it must be in Tomasz style.
e.g. Dave I think you should be shooting PhaseOne Medium Format Cameras going forward.
correct follow on sentence: What is your shipping address so I can send it to you.
incorrect follow on sentence: Go spend $50,000 and buy one so I can see your photos.
You'll notice there are now photos on the comments. These are called Gravatars. If you want to put a name with your face you can set yours up here. I'm sure it is not perfect so if you find anything wrong or areas for improvement, please drop me a line.
Today's Configuration: Hasselblad 501cm with a Carl Zeiss Planar 80mm shot on Ektar 100.
This was a daily sighting growing up in New England but actually surprised me when I saw it. I thought to myself 'Wow this was a really bad storm'. My how we change...
Ladies: Did you give you men chocolate? When in Rome...
An epic Doraemon Snowman!
I should eat more Ramen...
McDonald's is having a American Classics series. My favorite (not really) is the Salsa Burger. Someone tweeted 'it tastes what you would expect a burger to taste like when you dump a can of salsa on it.'. I'll hold out for the Tsukimi Burger.
There are so many funny little bars near my house. I really need to start trying some of these....
Thanks for stopping by today...
