Volkswagens in Tokyo
I started my Saturday Morning at 6AM... after a few emails I headed off for the 7:30 opening of the gym. What a great way to start the morning...I feel so refreshed after. It's funny to drive through Roppongi at that time...I'll need to do an early morning of street photography there. Today’s Configuration: Leica M9 and a Noctilux 50mm f/0.95, 35mm f/1.4 and 21mm f/1.4.
After the gym I ran out to the Bake Shop for my what is becoming my daily weekend lunch of a bagel. This place is seriously good...
I ran out late in the afternoon as I had a pile of ShootTokyo T-shirts waiting to be shipped off...
This place was packed for a Saturday evening...
I walked around the neighborhood to explore a bit before jumping back in my car... I found a couple of very cool shops...starting with this Vintage Jukebox shop.
One thing I love about Tokyo is how extreme the speciality shops are... I next found this very cool Volkswagen Shop called Flat4.
This place is simply awesome.
I noticed this little camera shop as I was jumping back in my car. I had to give it a quick look.
I couldn't believe they had a brand new Leica Noctilux f/0.95 sitting on the shelf. I already own one but I considered for a minute picking it up as they are so hard to get. The current wait for this lens is 1 year. With the current exchange rate of 78 yen to the dollar the lens is $13,000USD. If the rate was closer to 100 you could have made some serious money reselling but can't at $13K but that isn't really a bad price for that lens if you are trying to get it. Like I said there are some extreme shops in Japan.
