Black (& White) Friday
I got up early today and as I was heading out the door at 6:45 as usual I realized I didn't have any early morning meetings for once. The benefit of working for a US based company - Thanksgiving Weekend! While it isn't a holiday in Japan I can definitely feel the effect on my calendar and email volume. I decided to slow down and enjoy my commute into the office with a more leisurely stroll with my camera. I don't get to do it often lately but I really enjoy it when I do. As I was going through and editing this I was really happy with this set. The micro details that this camera is able to capture is absolutely amazing to me. I wish I could post images 2000 pixels wide on here so you can see the extreme details in the images. I posted a few on my Google+ and Facebook Page so check them out. These images aren't perfect. Actually they have a lot of flaws in them but I really like how they came out. You'll notice it is a bit differently to how I usually shoot but for me it was a refreshing change.
Today's configuration: Leica M Monochrom with a Summicron 28mm f/2.0
I'm always amazed looking at the wires everywhere in this 'modern' city...
Cigarettes, Gambling and Clowns... A perfect combination!
I hate that they are starting to put these barriers everywhere at the stations now...
My train was packed with Japanese school children this morning who all found me a bit amusing...
I decided to get off a stop early and walk the rest of the way...
I wonder what is going to be built here on the big major crossing in Ginza...
I do prefer the 'excellent service' taxis vs. the 'regular service' ones...
Head towards the light...
Tokyo International Forum. This is such a cool building inside. I think I'll need to take a lunch hour and photograph it...
I work up there...
I had a meeting in Toranomon this afternoon. I love how this picture came out. I love the light hitting the mirrors on the back taxi...
My first car in Tokyo 14 years ago was an Audi TT just like this. My wife called it my 'punk car'...
Random coning...
In Tokyo we like to keep our police in here so we can easily keep an eye on them...
Tokyo Tower...
More police...
More barriers...
