San Francisco
What a long but fantastic 10 days in San Francisco. I'm sitting in my hotel room, packed, exhausted and ready to head to the airport. Last weekend I held a photowalk when I had a little free time. As always a great crowd showed up. I think San Francisco an amazing city. The more time I spend here the more I like this city. The architecture is fantastic and brings with it very long shadows that make more a new type of photography for me. It add great to your photos. As Jay Maisel says 'Light, Color and Gesture are the foundation to your photos' and being in San Francisco will give you a natural advantage.
I love the different architectures all combined together in San Francisco.
Today's Configuration: Leica M9-P, Noctilux 50mm f/0.95, Summilux 21mm f/1.4 and other various Leica lenses.
I often forget to look up when shooting but in San Francisco the views are fantastic.
We met up at the Ferry Building. I love walking and shooting around here. There is always so much going on.
Poems about infinity...
I miss having a dog...
I would take white's castle...
Like I said... I am always pleasantly surprised when I look up in San Francisco...
Sometimes less so when I look down... Only in San Francisco.
I just loved the light falling onto this building...
This place is very interesting. Wingtip is a Club in San Francisco. The first floor is a men's shop that has great high end clothes and accessories. The upper floors are a private club with a dining room, bar, game rooms, and more. I had dinner here one night last week. The food was fantastic. It is a very neat club you should check out when you are in San Francisco.
The Transamerica Building in San Francisco. It is one of my favorite buildings in San Francisco...
I saw this very nice Bentley parked in front covered in parking tickets. Who leaves a Bentley laying around like that?
Thankfully they did as it has some very cool reflections on the hood...
My Chinese trading company...
Here be dragons...
I love Tsingtao...
After the photowalk we stopped for burgers and beers as Mo's in North Beach. The burgers here are fantastic! I highly recommend eating here.
I met up with Ivan Makarov from Smug Mug on Sunday for brunch and a bit of photowalking... He is a fantastic photographer and showed me a few new areas in San Francisco I haven't explored yet but walked right past.
I am going to bring a tripod and photograph this at sunrise. I think it will make a fantastic shot. My friend Jon shot a similar one and I was really impressed with it.
Like I said the architecture in San Francisco is fantastic...
There are so many levels in San Francisco... I just love it.
Thanks for stopping by today...
