Reinstated
I have had a lot going on lately. Wow it's been almost a month! I think this was the longest I haven't posted on ShootTokyo but life sometimes goes that way. I have been super busy with some family things that needed my attention. It just wasn't possible to focus on both and needed to give this a break. I have a few photography outing planned so looking for another post towards the end of the weekend or this coming weekend. I got a nice review of my ShootTokyo Book at WinkBooks. I got notified via an email this morning and it was a pleasant surprise. I get asked a lot about cameras and blogging.
Today's Configuration: Leica M9-P with a Summilux 50mm f/1.4
Shinjuku Station...
I headed down to MAP Camera in Shinjuku yesterday. I have been watching the pricing of the Summilux 50mm Black Chrome that I bought when I was in NYC. It is getting pretty expensive in Tokyo selling for around $5,800 USD the $3,600 I paid for it. I really don't like the oversized hood on it and really wanted to get the standard Summilux 50mm f/1.4 I was really surprised I was able to trade it in at MAP for 648,000 Yen ($5,400 USD) and get a new Summilux 50mm for 460,000 Yen ($3,800 USD). That's a nice profit for a few months of holding on to a lens. Seems like a good arbitrage opportunity if I can find some more in the states but the prices seem to be going up on eBay too.
Protesting something...
I never really understand graffiti in Tokyo. I can never read it and it is covered in strange stickers...
Shibuya Station...
Look at this crazy guy... no hands!
Pokemon Express... (I thought Kai would like this)
A small little matsuri happening in front of my house...
The rainy season has ended and it is brutally hot in Tokyo... I went to get my morning Starbucks and you could see dark shadows even at 7:30AM!
My test shot with every new lens...
Kai really wants them to sell these so he can get them...
I got my car washed today. It was pretty cheap at $35 or so as they buffed it as well. It was spotless when I got it back. The attention to detail was amazing for that price. The best part was they gave me a coupon. If I bring the car back within a month it's only 100 yen ($1 USD) to wash my car again. What a deal!
I do not own of these...
Thanks for stopping by today...
