Snowy New York City
I had a short business trip to New York City last week. It was my first business trip in about 5 months. The East Coast of the United States was hit with one of the worst storms in many years and with all of the flight delays the trip ended up being a little longer than planned. The snow storm gave me some time for some much needed rest. I had dinner with colleagues on Friday night and decided to skip the after dinner drinks and head back to my hotel and go to sleep. I slept right until 6AM ordered some room service, ate breakfast and then went back to bed until 5PM. By the time I woke up and showered NYC was completely snowed in so I grabbed a casual dinner in the hotel and went back to sleep. Today's Configuration: Leica MP with a 28mm f/2.0 and Portra 160 film
My flight arrived on Tuesday morning around 9AM. I always avoid going to sleep when I arrive to try to adjust to the time so I explored the city a little bit before my evening event.
I brought my Yamaha Silent Guitar with me in the event I woke up early with jetlag. It was nice to be able to practice while on the road. The guitar is super light so might bring it with me on my future trips.
Cost of living
I think I care way too much about my car to ever drive in NYC. I would be so annoyed if sometime parked so close to me.
I spent most of my work week working in Chelsea Market.

I stayed in the Meat Packing District. After waking from my snow storm hibernation I decided to head out into the city. I didn't brave the snow but got some cool photos for my Instagram from my balcony. My flight was delayed from Sunday to Monday so it gave me some time to do the shopping I was planning to do on Saturday but couldn't due to the snow.
I was impressed with how New York handled the snow. New York was hit with about 30 inches of snow on Saturday but the roads were pretty cleaned up by noon on Sunday. Tokyo is paralyzed by just a few inches. I wasn't packed properly for snow and ended up picking up a pair of boots so I could get out and shoot a bit.
I went out in this mess and complete the shopping I was hoping to. I lost a bit of weight and needed to pick up some new jeans and sweaters. Too many of mine were too baggy.
NYC coming back to life...
I met up with Jason while in NYC. He looked much happier and less hostage like in real life. I think he was happy to see me. I think it was my flash...
Jason reminded me about Google OnHub. I have the worst WiFi in my house. It's really difficult to get a good signal from room to room. I ended up picking up on OnHub before leaving and set it up when I got home. My WiFi is much stronger now. Thanks Jason!
We took a walk on the Highline. It's one of the coolest parts of NYC.
It must be hard to clean off your car when they are stacked like this.
I forgot to eat some Pizza while in NYC. It was a big oversight on my part.
This poor guy...
Did the snow blow this way or did someone really need to make a phone call and doesn't own a cell phone?
Tokyo needs a don't block the box policy. Taxi drivers in Tokyo stop any and everywhere...

I just finished watching Making a Murder on Netflix. What a frustrating show to watch. Highly recommended.
Be well.
