Flashing February
I picked up the Leica SF 24D Flash a few years ago but I haven't used it much. I mostly use my larger Leica SF-58 Flash which I am pretty comfortable with but it isn't very practical or very ergonomic to shoot with. I want to get better with the SF 24D and I want the results to be more predicable. I am sure it is pretty straight forward but I just haven't dedicated any time to shooting with it. I really liked the paparazzi look I got on Matthew's Birthday. I really want to work on that work a bit more. I don't like jumping out at people and taking a flash photo but more my friendly approach to photography but using a flash.
For the rest of February I am going to shoot the same configuration: My Leica M Monochrom with a Summicron 28mm f/2.0 and a Leica SF24D Flash. I often do this when I buy a new lens and it is a really good way to get proficient with new or old gear. I did this when I got my 21mm, 35mm and 50mm and really helped me to learn my gear.
My friend John Hall was in town so it was great to catch up with him for some lunch with Mayumi and then head out shooting together. It is always great to catch up with John when he is in Tokyo.
"It's better to be balanced than right" a great quote John mentioned to me. A great way to think about approaching life.
Today's Configuration: Leica M Monochrom with Summicron 28mm f/2.0 a Leica SF 24D Flash.
I still love that train stations have PR Boards...
Here is an example of where the flash over exposed a bit. I need to work with this a bit so I can get consistent results.
This guy was really getting into the Valentine's Day spirit...
John wanted to see the Photographer's Bar so we headed there for a bit...
This guy was sitting next to me and we chatted for a bit... He had a few of his books on the shelf in the bar.
John was kind enough to be flashed many times throughout the night...
I really like how this one came out...
One guy was politely being removed by police from this bar...
My last shot for the day. I really like how this one came out...
I have put select items in the ShootTokyo Shop at 25-50% off. Check them out...
Thanks for stopping by today...
